KNUTD STUDENTS PRESENTED THEIR ORIGINAL COLLECTIONS AT ODESA FASHION DAY 2026

In early August, students of the Faculty of Design at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design presented their original collections as part of SUMMER WEEKEND by OFD / Odesa 2026. KNUTD served as the educational partner of the event, which brought together designer fashion shows, presentations, and representatives of the Ukrainian fashion industry.

SUMMER WEEKEND by OFD / Odesa 2026 took place over two days. One of the event venues was the Botanical Garden of Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University, which hosted the designer fashion shows.

The KNUTD delegation at SUMMER WEEKEND by OFD / Odesa 2026 was represented by Marharyta Aftantsdiliants, Head of the Marketing Communications Department, and Nataliia Lesiuta, Director of the Student Centre for Fashion and Creativity.

Three students of the KNUTD Faculty of Design presented their works as part of the event programme.

Sofiia Yakhno presented her collection “Touch of the Waves”, inspired by the image of a sea wave as a symbol of freedom, movement, inner strength, and changeability. Through the collection, the designer explores the themes of self-expression and the different facets of personality.

Alina Mazur presented the Whiplash collection, based on the story of an artist and their unfinished creation. The collection explores the creative process, obsession with an idea, and the emotional connection between the creator and the result of their work.

Yevhenii Kenzir presented the A Horse With No Name collection, which combines elements of neo-Western aesthetics and streetwear. The designer reinterprets traditional Western motifs through contemporary silhouettes, forms, and design solutions.

Participation in Odesa Fashion Day gave the students an opportunity to present the results of their creative work on a professional platform, gain hands-on experience in preparing and staging a fashion show, and engage with representatives of the fashion industry. We sincerely thank Odesa Fashion Day producer Oleh Shkilniuk for the partnership, support of student creativity, and the opportunity for young designers to present their work on a professional fashion platform.

We also thank fashion stylist Kyrylo Savchenko for his professional support of the students during preparations for the show, assistance with the collections, and help in addressing organisational matters.
