VOLODYMYR YAREMENKO SUCCESSFULLY DEFENDED HIS THESIS FOR THE DEGREE OF DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY IN SPECIALTY 161 CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY AND ENGINEERING

On August 19, 2026, at a meeting of the one-time specialized academic council PhD15613 at the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD), the successful defense of the dissertation of Volodymyr YAREMENKO, a 4th-year graduate student of the Department of Chemical Technologies and Resource Saving, for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in specialty 161 "Chemical Technologies and Engineering", took place.

The topic of the dissertation is “Development of a polymer composite material with an active pharmaceutical ingredient with anti-inflammatory action” (scientific supervisor – Candidate of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Associate Professor, Professor of the Department of Industrial Pharmacy of the KNUTD Andriy GOY).

The defense took place in a one-time specialized academic council, which included: chairman – Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Professor of the Department of Chemical Technologies and Resource Saving of KNUTD Volodymyr KHOMENKO; reviewers – Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Chemical Technologies and Resource Saving of KNUTD Iryna LIASHOK and Candidate of Technical Sciences, Assistant Professor of the Department of Industrial Pharmacy of KNUTD Illia RESNYTSKYI; official opponents – Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Polymer Modification of the Institute of Chemistry of High-Molecular Compounds of the NAS of Ukraine Serhii RIABOV and Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Professor of the Department of Chemical Technology of Plastics Processing of the Lviv Polytechnic National University Oleksandr HRYTSENKO.

The dissertation work of V. V. Yaremenko is dedicated to solving the current scientific and technical problem of increasing the solubility and bioavailability of the poorly soluble active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) of anti-inflammatory action by creating polymer composite materials in the form of solid dispersed systems (SDS). The work carried out a comprehensive comparative study of a number of methods for obtaining SDS of mefenamic acid, namely: wet granulation, co-grinding, electroforming, centrifugal fiber formation, solvent evaporation and spray drying, and established their determining influence on the structural state and biopharmaceutical properties of the finished product. The developed technological solutions expand the scientific base for the creation of new forms of active pharmaceutical ingredients and drugs based on them and contribute to the formation of added value in chemical and pharmaceutical production.

Based on the results of the public defense, the members of the one-time specialized academic council noted the high scientific level of the dissertation work, its relevance, scientific novelty, practical significance and validity of the results obtained and unanimously decided to award Volodymyr YAREMENKO the degree of Doctor of Philosophy.

We sincerely congratulate Volodymyr Volodymyrovych on the successful defense of his dissertation and obtaining the degree of Doctor of Philosophy! May this important stage be the beginning of new scientific achievements, interesting research, professional opportunities and significant discoveries.

We also congratulate the scientific supervisor Andriy GOY, under whose professional guidance this dissertation was successfully prepared and defended. May scientific work continue to bring significant results, and may knowledge and experience contribute to the formation of a new generation of young researchers!
