NEW KNUTD DOCTORS OF PHILOSOPHY: RESEARCH ON MODERN ENTREPRENEURSHIP, INNOVATION AND EUROPEAN INTEGRATION

The academic community of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design has been enriched by new research achievements in the field of entrepreneurship. In late August and early September 2026, KNUTD hosted dissertation defenses by PhD candidates in Specialty 076 «Entrepreneurship, Trade and Exchange Activities».

The dissertations address issues of particular relevance to contemporary Ukraine: the development of entrepreneurship amid digital transformation, the enhancement of business activity within innovative environments, and the search for new models of business development in the context of European integration.

On 28 August 2026, Viacheslav Kokhno presented the results of his dissertation research. At the meeting of the Specialized Academic Council PhD 15870, he defended his dissertation entitled «Infrastructure Support for Entrepreneurship Development in the Digital Economy».

Academic supervisor – Taliat Bielialov, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor.

The research focuses on the development of entrepreneurial infrastructure under the influence of the digitalization of economic processes. The author further developed theoretical and methodological approaches and proposed practical recommendations for creating an environment capable of ensuring the effective functioning and development of entrepreneurship amid digital transformation.

Another significant academic achievement of the day was the dissertation defense of Serhii Rabchuk. At the meeting of the Specialized Academic Council PhD 15722, the candidate presented his dissertation entitled «Adaptive Motivational Mechanism for Business Activation in Innovation Clusters».

Academic supervisor – Anna Orel, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor.

The research addresses the relevant scientific and practical challenge of enhancing entrepreneurial activity within innovation clusters. The dissertation explores opportunities for improving motivational mechanisms of interaction among business entities and strengthening their innovative activity in a rapidly changing economic environment.

On 2 September 2026, Teimur Kasumov continued this series of academic achievements by successfully defending his dissertation at the meeting of the Specialized Academic Council PhD 16244. His dissertation is entitled «Mechanism for the Formation of Diversified and Integrated Business Development with Consideration of European Integration Processes».

Academic supervisor – Tetiana Tsalko, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor.

The research is devoted to developing modern approaches to diversified and integrated business development in the context of Ukraine’s European integration trajectory. The proposed theoretical provisions and practical recommendations are aimed at enhancing the adaptability of business entities to structural economic changes and the evolving conditions of the business environment.

The three dissertations represent distinct yet interconnected areas of modern entrepreneurship development: the digitalization of entrepreneurial infrastructure, the development of innovation clusters, and the European integration-driven transformation of business. These studies demonstrate the commitment of KNUTD’s young researchers to addressing current challenges facing the Ukrainian economy.

Following the public dissertation defenses and open voting, the Specialized Academic Councils decided to award Viacheslav Kokhno, Serhii Rabchuk and Teimur Kasumov the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Specialty 076 «Entrepreneurship, Trade and Exchange Activities».
