GUEST LECTURE ON GRANTS AND FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDYING ABROAD

On 23 September 2026, a guest lecture entitled “Grants and Funding Opportunities for Studying at Universities and Colleges in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand” was held for first- to fourth-year students majoring in philology.

The guest speaker was Volodymyr Martsynovskyi, Director of the Charitable Organisation “Charitable Foundation ‘Fund for Resilience and Recovery of Ukraine’”.

During the lecture, Volodymyr Martsynovskyi introduced the students to current opportunities for pursuing and continuing their education abroad, funding options available at universities and colleges in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, as well as scholarship, grant and preparatory programmes available to international students.

Particular attention was given to opportunities offered by international education organisations and providers, including Oxford Education Group, Cambridge Education Group, Navitas, Kaplan, Study Group and INTO. The students learned about different routes to university admission, preparatory and pathway programmes, funding opportunities, and the key requirements international applicants are expected to meet.

An important part of the meeting was devoted to discussing practical issues, including how to choose a university and an academic programme, where to search for grant opportunities, how to evaluate funding conditions, prepare the required application documents, and plan an individual international educational pathway.

This topic is particularly relevant to future philologists and translators, as studying abroad, participating in internships and engaging in academic mobility programmes in English-speaking countries provide valuable opportunities to enhance foreign-language communicative competence, deepen knowledge of the cultures of English-speaking countries, develop intercultural communication skills, and gain experience in international academic and professional environments.

The lecture was held in an interactive format, allowing students to ask questions and receive practical advice on searching for grants and securing funding for their studies abroad.
