LECTURES ON ACADEMIC INTEGRITY FOR STUDENTS
A series of informational and educational lectures on academic integrity for higher education students was held at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design.
The lectures were organised by the Centre for Quality Management of Educational Activities of KNUTD and took place online on 15-18 September 2026 for students of all faculties of the University.
During the meetings, students were introduced to the key principles and values of academic integrity, the main types of academic integrity violations, and the possible consequences of academic misconduct. Particular attention was paid to academic plagiarism, fabrication and falsification of results, cheating, deception, biased assessment, as well as adherence to the principles of academic integrity during entrance examinations, competitions and student olympiads.
An important part of the lectures was devoted to the responsible use of artificial intelligence technologies in the educational process. Students were reminded that the use of digital tools and artificial intelligence systems should comply with the requirements of the relevant educational component, while respecting authorship, ensuring independent completion of assignments, and properly acknowledging the sources and tools used.
The lectures also explained the procedures for checking academic and qualification papers for academic plagiarism and signs of inappropriate use of artificial intelligence, as well as the procedures for reviewing possible violations and the types of academic responsibility that may apply.
Such events are an important part of KNUTD’s systematic efforts to foster a culture of academic integrity, promote responsible attitudes towards learning, and ensure the quality of educational activities.
