KNUTD STRENGTHENS ITS PARTNERSHIP WITH METU

During a visit to ODTÜ Teknokent in Ankara, Republic of Türkiye, a delegation from Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD) held a working meeting with the leadership of Middle East Technical University (METU). The KNUTD delegation comprised Rector Oleksandra Olshanska; Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Olena Hryhorevska; Head of the Department of Management Tetiana Tsalko; Professors of the Department of Management Olena Cherniavska and Olena Vartanova; and Associate Professor of the Department of Management Nataliia Buhas. Participants discussed prospects for international cooperation and opportunities to join forces in education, research and project activities.
The discussion focused on identifying areas of partnership that would support the development of both universities and create new opportunities for their academic communities. The parties explored academic mobility, joint research, the development of innovative solutions and participation in international projects.
Particular attention was paid to opportunities for student and staff mobility under the Erasmus+ programme. Developing this area of cooperation will expand opportunities for learning, teaching and professional development, while encouraging the exchange of educational practices and direct connections between members of the two universities.

Research and project collaboration formed another key area of discussion. Participants explored opportunities to combine the institutions’ research capabilities to deliver joint initiatives. Such cooperation could provide a foundation for establishing international project teams, sharing expertise and developing innovative responses to current challenges.
The meeting resulted in preliminary agreements to develop joint projects, expand academic mobility and exchange experience in education and research. These agreements lay the groundwork for further consideration of specific proposals and the development of cooperation formats.
Strengthening the partnership with METU forms part of KNUTD’s ongoing efforts to expand its international connections and integrate into the global education and research community. For the university community, it offers prospects for new academic connections, research opportunities and international experience, contributing to improved educational quality and stronger research capacity.
