LECTURE «GAME DEV: FROM CONCEPT TO DEMO» DELIVERED BY INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS FOR FACULTY OF DESIGN STUDENTS
On October 13, 2026, students of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD) had a unique opportunity to attend a lecture entitled «Game dev: From Concept to Demo», which explored the specifics of working in the game industry.

The guest speakers, Oleksandra KOLOMIIETS and Vadym MORONOV, industry professionals and KNUTD alumni, shared their practical experience and real-world case studies of video game development with aspiring designers.

The lecture was attended by students and faculty members from the Department of Multimedia Design, the Department of Graphic Design, and other interested participants. The event was initiated by members of the Faculty of Design Student Government, particularly its chair, Oleksandra Us.
During the lecture, participants explored the entire game development cycle in detail. The speakers focused on the key stages essential to creating a successful game project.

“Game development is where technology, psychology, and art intersect. Every visual element must not only look appealing but also serve a specific function in gameplay,” the speakers emphasized during the lecture.

The game development industry in Ukraine is rapidly evolving, with a growing demand for qualified 2D/3D artists, UI/UX designers, and concept artists. Such workshops and open lectures provide students with valuable insights into the actual requirements of the job market and opportunities to establish their first professional connections.

KNUTD students not only gained an inside look at the process of creating game visuals but also received answers to their questions about how to begin a career in game development and build a competitive portfolio.
We sincerely thank Oleksandra KOLOMIIETS and Vadym MORONOV for their willingness to share their professional experience and valuable practical advice in the field of game design!
