LECTURE BY PRACTICAL DESIGNER ANNA BOIKO FOR STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF DESIGN
On October 22, 2026, a lecture and question and answer session by interior designer Anna Boyko took place.
Anna Boyko, a graduate of the Department of Interior and Furniture Design of the KNUTD, an interior designer with many years of experience, and the owner of a design studio, answered numerous questions that students had submitted in advance and those that arose during the discussion.

Ms. Anna spoke about her life and professional path, education and development as a designer. She emphasized the high level of education provided by KNUTD and stated that the training provided by the university is a sufficient basis for working in primary positions as a designer, for performing drawings and visualizations of projects developed by leading designers. After gaining some experience as a designer executive, one can consider opening their own practice. However, this is not mandatory, and not every designer is ready to take on the responsibility of managing their own business. It is important during your professional activity to understand your own strengths and weaknesses, identify your own inclinations and concentrate on what works best and interests you most in your work.
Students were interested in the possibilities of finding their first job. Anna Boyko reminded them of the possibilities of job sites but also suggested directly contacting designers or design studios whose work they were interested in while visiting exhibitions or browsing social networks.
Another aspect of the discussion was modern technologies in interior design. Regarding specialized software, Ms. Anna noted that the university provides good basic training: the Autodesk Revit and 3D Max programs that students study are exactly those that are used in practice. It is also important to master the capabilities of artificial intelligence, which does not replace one’s own development, but, for example, allows you to develop color solutions or furniture options faster.

During the conversation, Anna Boyko repeatedly emphasized the importance of a designer obtaining a high-quality higher education, but also the need for constant professional self-improvement: attending lectures, professional exhibitions, participating in seminars, additional education courses, etc.
The meeting was organized on the initiative of the student government of the Faculty of Design and the head of the organization, Oleksandra Us.
We sincerely thank Ms. Anna for the interesting conversation, useful advice, and meaningful discussion!
