THE FIRST STAGE OF THE 27TH PETRO YATSYK INTERNATIONAL UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE COMPETITION HELD AT KYIV NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGIES AND DESIGN

On 27 October 2026, Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language, the university hosted the first stage of the 27th Petro Yatsyk International Ukrainian Language Competition. This prestigious language competition traditionally brings students together to promote their native language, strengthen its status as the state language, and encourage high standards of language use.

The event brought together students from different faculties, who demonstrated a high level of linguistic knowledge, national awareness, and respect for the Ukrainian language. The competition was organised by the Department of Philology and Translation of the Faculty of Arts and Creative Industries, which ensured its effective coordination and transparent conduct.

The participants demonstrated not only a thorough knowledge of current Ukrainian spelling rules but also creative thinking when writing reflective essays on topics of importance to society and the country.

The organising committee and the competition jury have begun evaluating the students' submissions. The results and the names of the winners will be announced by 11 November.

Students who achieve first place in their respective categories will earn the right to represent the university at the city stage of the competition and continue competing for the prestigious Scholarships of the President of Ukraine.

We sincerely thank all participants for their enthusiasm, love for their native language, and commitment to preserving and strengthening it! We are proud of our talented students and wish them continued success and new intellectual achievements!

On the same day, lecturers and students of the Department of Philology and Translation also took part in the All-Ukrainian Radio Dictation of National Unity!

Every year, this event reminds us that the Ukrainian language is our weapon, our identity, and our shared home.

We are delighted to be part of this large-scale initiative that brings people together around the world!

Our language is our strength, our unity, and our future!
