FROM CONCEPT TO DEMO: SECOND MEETING FOR KNUTD STUDENTS FROM GAME DESIGN PROFESSIONALS
A lecture on computer game development sparked significant interest among students and received numerous positive reviews, demonstrating the relevance of game design to future design professionals. Consequently, at the request of students from the Faculty of Design, specifically those from the Departments of Multimedia Design and Graphic Design, a second meeting with designers Oleksandra Kolomiiets and Vadym Mironov took place on October 27, 2026

The lecture attracted an even broader audience interested in professional development within the gaming industry and in the possibilities of turning a passion for video games into a successful professional career.

During the meeting, the speakers not only covered the key stages of video game creation - from concept formation to the development of a demo version - but also focused specifically on the practical aspects of the work performed by artists and UI/UX designers within a development team.

An important part of the meeting was an interactive Q&A session, during which students had the opportunity to engage with experts, receive professional advice, learn about the specifics of working in Ukrainian and international video game development studios, and discuss common mistakes made by beginners as well as how to avoid them.

Such meetings help KNUTD students deepen their professional knowledge, gain insight into contemporary design practices within the gaming industry, and understand the requirements expected of future specialists. The knowledge and recommendations gained will prove valuable as students develop their own design projects, build professional portfolios, and prepare for their future careers.
The meeting was organized by Oleksandra Us, Head of the Student Self-Government for the Faculty of Design.
Many thanks to Oleksandra Kolomiiets and Vadym Mironov for an insightful meeting and for their willingness to share professional experience and practical recommendations; and to the students — for their active participation, engaging questions, and commitment to professional development!
