MEETING OF THE SCIENTIFIC CLUB “CURRENT DIRECTIONS IN TOURISM DEVELOPMENT AND TOURISM RESEARCH IN TIMES OF CRISIS” ON THE TOPIC “CONSIDERATION OF CURRENT PROBLEMS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE NATIONAL TOURISM INDUSTRY IN WARTIME”

On October 24, 2025, a meeting of the scientific club “Current Directions in Tourism Development and Tourism Research in Times of Crisis” was held on the topic “Consideration of Current Problems in the Development of the National Tourism Industry in Wartime.” The event took place at the ASTERI apartment hotel.

Particularly valuable to participants was the contribution of Viacheslav Hurt, Director of the ASTERI hotel and restaurant complex, who shared a practical perspective on the functioning of the hotel business under wartime conditions, including adapting to changes in demand, addressing staffing issues, addressing safety concerns, and maintaining service stability.

Discussing current industry problems directly with practitioners enables combining theoretical developments with real-life cases and gaining a better understanding of the contemporary trends and challenges facing the national tourism industry. This format of meetings is especially important for students, as future researchers and professionals in the fields of tourism and hospitality, since direct communication with practitioners working in the hotel sector on a daily basis fosters practical thinking, critical analysis, and motivation for further research.

The meeting served as an example of effective collaboration among education, science, and business, a key prerequisite for the recovery and sustainable development of Ukraine’s tourism industry under wartime conditions.
