On May 15, 2026, a meeting of the scientific club “Vocational Education and Foreign Language Communication” was held at the Department of Philology and Translation of the Faculty of Culture and Creative Industries. The topic of the meeting was “Speaking Green: The Language of Sustainability in International Projects and Professions”.
At the beginning of the meeting, Associate Professor Kseniia Kugai spoke with the students about why environmental communication is becoming increasingly important today and how foreign languages help promote the ideas of sustainable development in the international professional environment.
During the meeting, participants discussed how language and various communication strategies are used to address environmental issues and implement international eco-projects. Special attention was paid to intercultural interaction and the way professional communication influences the development of environmental awareness.
Students shared examples of international initiatives and their own observations on how effective foreign language communication helps establish cooperation between representatives of different countries. During the discussion, participants also discussed the importance of critical thinking, environmental literacy, and a responsible attitude toward today’s global challenges.
As part of the meeting, student Kateryna Sharuda delivered a presentation entitled “Innovative Teaching Methods in Contemporary European Educational Practice”. The thesis of the presentation was accepted for publication in the proceedings of the 12th International Scientific and Practical Conference “Professional Foreign Language Competencies of Humanities Degree Seekers in the Context of Digitalization of the Educational Process in the Modern University: Theory and Practice of Domestic and Foreign Experience,” held at the State University “Kyiv Aviation Institute” on February 25, 2026.
The meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere of lively communication, exchange of ideas, and discussion of new approaches to the development of environmental and foreign language competencies of modern students.
