On March 13, 2026, a meeting of the student scientific club “The Art of Translation” of the Department of Philology and Translation at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design was held under the supervision of Nataliia Gudkova, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor.
The topic of the meeting was “Translation of Publicistic and Media Texts: Challenges of the Information Age.” The meeting was attended by first-year philology students of group BAM-25, as well as students majoring in International Economics – K. Tkachuk and Ye. Peretyatko.
The participation of students from two different specializations contributed to an interdisciplinary discussion of the topic, a deeper understanding of the role of translation in the modern media, digital, and economic environment, and the development of professional communication skills.
The participants discussed the peculiarities of translating publicistic and media texts, the problem of information overload, news content filtering, and the verification of information reliability in the digital media space.

Students K. Tkachuk and Ye. Peretyatko prepared materials for discussion on the topics “The Role of Digitalization in the Transformation of the Modern Economy” and “Innovative Technologies as a Factor of Economic Growth.” They will present reports on these topics at the XI International Scientific and Practical Conference “Dialogue of Cultures in the European Educational Space,” which will take place at KNUTD on May 7, 2026, followed by the publication of conference abstracts.
The meeting contributed to the development of students’ professional competencies, deepened their knowledge in the field of media discourse translation, and promoted an interdisciplinary understanding of the contemporary challenges of the information age.
