On April 21, 2026, the Department of Mechanical Engineering held a SolidWorks Engineering 3D Modeling Competition organized within the activities of the Polygon Student Scientific Club and dedicated to the Day of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies.
The Polygon Student Scientific Club of the Department of Mechanical Engineering is aimed at developing students’ competencies in 3D graphics, computer modeling, engineering design, digital prototyping and visualization. The club’s activities are related to computer modeling and engineering analysis of structures, as well as the development of 3D models of mechanical systems and parts using modern CAD/CAE/CAM methods.
During the competition, participants completed practical tasks involving the creation of three-dimensional models according to technical requirements. They worked with sketches, geometric relations, dimensions and solid modeling tools. Particular attention was paid to modeling accuracy, the sequence of operations, spatial thinking and the ability to find rational engineering solutions quickly.
The competition became an important part of the club’s practical work, as it allowed students to demonstrate the skills acquired during classes on 3D modeling, creation of simple models, assembly of virtual structures and preparation of models for presentation. Participation in such events increases students’ interest in engineering and supports the development of professional competencies of future specialists.
According to the results of the competition, the participants who demonstrated a high level of SolidWorks proficiency, attentiveness, perseverance and a creative approach to engineering tasks were recognized. We congratulate all participants and wish them further success in 3D modeling, design and computer engineering.
