PRACTICAL SESSION OF THE POLYGON CLUB ON MODELING AND ENGINEERING ANALYSIS OF STRUCTURES (01.10.2025)

Within the activities of the Polygon Student Scientific Club, a practical session was held on modeling and engineering analysis of structures using modern computer-integrated tools.

The Polygon Student Scientific Club of the Department of Mechanical Engineering is aimed at developing students’ competencies in 3D graphics, computer modeling, engineering design, digital prototyping and visualization. The club’s activities are related to computer modeling and engineering analysis of structures, as well as the development of 3D models of mechanical systems and parts using modern CAD/CAE/CAM methods.

During the session, students worked with digital models of parts and structural elements, analyzed their geometry, checked modeling parameters and studied the principles of evaluating model behavior under loading. On the computer screens, participants observed modeling and visualization results, which helped them better understand the relationship between the shape of a part, its design features and its functional properties.

The session corresponded to the club’s focus on computer modeling and engineering analysis of structures. The participants strengthened their skills in working with 3D models, practiced approaches to testing ideas in a digital environment and deepened their understanding of the capabilities of CAD/CAE tools in preparing engineering solutions.

The practical skills gained can be used by students in course projects, qualification papers, competitions and research work, as well as in their future professional activities in mechanical engineering.
