On March 25, 2026, the Department of Interior and Furniture Design hosted a regular meeting of the research club “Promising Directions in Scientific and Practical Activities in Contemporary Environmental Design,” led by Tetyana Bulgakova, Ph.D., Associate Professor.

The topic of the meeting was inclusive design and the principles of creating an environment accessible to all categories of users. During the meeting, the society’s members discussed modern approaches to designing barrier-free spaces, the specifics of organizing the physical environment for people of different ages and physical abilities, as well as the role of universal design in creating a comfortable environment.

Students presented the results of their own research and design proposals focused on the accessibility, functionality, and ergonomics of interior spaces. During the discussion, examples of domestic and international experience in creating inclusive environments were examined, and the possibilities for implementing modern design solutions in practice were analyzed.

The meeting took the form of presentations and discussions, which contributed to the development of students’ research competencies, the formation of critical analysis skills, and the search for effective design solutions in the field of contemporary environmental design.

Participation in the scientific club is an important component of the professional development of future designers and encourages their involvement in research activities.
