PARTICIPATION OF STUDENT SCIENTIFIC CLUB MEMBERS IN THE RESEARCH ACTIVITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL PHARMACY

The student scientific club "General Cosmetology", supervised by Olena Roik, PhD (Pharmacy), Associate Professor, continues to operate actively at the Department of Industrial Pharmacy of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD).

The activities of the club are aimed at developing professional competencies of higher education students in the fields of cosmetic chemistry, technology of cosmetic and perfumery product manufacturing, as well as quality and safety control of cosmetic products. Through participation in the club, students acquire practical skills in scientific research, master modern approaches to searching, analyzing, and critically evaluating scientific information, and conduct experimental studies related to the formulation development, manufacturing technology, standardization, and quality assessment of cosmetic products.

During the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year, the club members conducted research on current topics in modern cosmetology, including the development of innovative cosmetic products for skin and hair care, oral hygiene products, and the investigation of the functional properties of natural ingredients, biopolymers, and biotechnologically derived active substances. Considerable attention was paid to the scientific substantiation of product formulations, selection of excipients, investigation of physicochemical, organoleptic, and microbiological quality characteristics, as well as the evaluation of the stability and safety of the developed formulations.

An important component of the club's activities was the participation of its members in the VIII All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference "Current State and Prospects for the Development of the Chemical, Food, and Perfumery and Cosmetics Industries" (May 29, 2026, Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine), where they presented the results of their scientific research. Following the conference, the abstracts of the presentations were published in the conference proceedings, and all participants received certificates confirming the presentation and academic dissemination of the results of their research.

Participation in the student scientific club enabled students to deepen their knowledge of cosmetic product manufacturing technologies, gain practical experience in conducting scientific research, and develop skills in preparing scientific publications, presenting research findings, and engaging in professional scientific communication. The club's activities foster the development of students' creative potential, encourage young people to participate in research, and contribute to the training of highly qualified specialists for the pharmaceutical and perfumery and cosmetics industries.
