The 2025–2026 academic year was extremely productive, eventful and effective for the participants of the student scientific group "Pharmtechnologist", which operates at the Department of Industrial Pharmacy of the KNUTD under the scientific supervision of Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Volodymyr BESSARABOV. The work of the group involves 3rd-5th year higher education students studying in the educational and professional programs "Industrial Pharmacy" and "European Cosmeceutics", as well as postgraduate students of the department.

The topics of the group meetings covered topical issues of modern pharmaceutical technology, analytical and cosmetic chemistry, as well as modern approaches to the development, research and quality control of medicines and cosmetic products.
Within the framework of the work of the group during the year, its participants mastered the methods of FTIR spectroscopy and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) in the development and quality control of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) and finished medicines. Young researchers paid special attention to the issues of increasing the bioavailability of APIs, as well as the technological aspects of obtaining pharmaceutical compositions based on extracts from plant raw materials. In addition, a separate block of work was devoted to the development and optimization of the technology of photoprotective cosmetic products.

The high level of scientific work of the group participants is confirmed by their publication activity and successful testing of research results. Based on the materials of the research carried out, 5 scientific articles were published in professional publications of Ukraine of category "B" (https://doi.org/10.30857/2786-5371.2026.3.5, https://doi.org/10.32352/0367-3057.2.26.07, https://doi.org/10.32782/health-2026.1.22, https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18888711, https://doi.org/10.30857/2786-5371.2026.2.4). Also, the works of young scientists were presented at the International Internet-conference "Modern chemistry of medicines", the VII International scientific and practical conference "KyivLvivPharma-2025. Pharmaceutical technology and pharmacology in ensuring active longevity”, XIII scientific and practical conference with international participation of the school of young scientists of JSC "Farmak" "Science, innovation and quality in modern pharmaceutical production", XII International scientific and practical conference "Modern achievements of pharmaceutical technology", VI International scientific and practical conference "Problems and achievements of modern biotechnology", X All-Ukrainian scientific conference "Actual tasks of chemistry: research and prospects" and XI International scientific and practical conference "Social pharmacy: state, problems and prospects".

A significant achievement of the student scientific group "Pharmtechnologist" was the presentation of the results of research dedicated to the development of a new sunscreen at the prestigious international school of photobiology – 8th ESP Photobiology School. The event was held on June 15–20, 2026 at the Casa della Gioventù Universitaria of the University of Padova (Brixen/Bressanone, Italy) and brought together young researchers from different countries of the world. The results of the study were presented during a poster session by a member of the group, a postgraduate student of the department, Viktoriia LYZHNIUK, who was the only representative of Ukraine among the participants of the school.

An important area of activity of the group was also the mastering of modern alternative methods for assessing the safety of cosmetic products. To this end, the group participants took part in the international webinar "ICCS BPG Skin Sensitization: Safety Assessment Using NAMs for Substances in Cosmetics and Personal Care Products", dedicated to the use of new methodologies (NAMs) for assessing skin sensitization. The event was based on the recommendations of the International Collaboration on Cosmetics Safety (ICCS) document, published in 2025, and became a valuable source of modern scientific knowledge for the development of this area of research in the group.

The results of the student scientific circle "Pharmtechnologist" in the 2025–2026 academic year demonstrated the high level of scientific training of its participants, their active research activities, the ability to work with modern methods of analysis and successfully solve current problems of pharmaceutical and cosmetic science and technology.
We sincerely congratulate the participants of the circle on the successful completion of the academic year, we wish new scientific ideas, successful implementation of research projects, new publications, victories in competitions and conferences and further professional achievements!
