"CLEAN ENVIRONMENT – THE FUTURE OF THE COUNTRY" DURING THE 2025/2026 ACADEMIC YEAR

The primary goal of the Student Scientific Club "Clean Environment – the Future of the Country" is to encourage students to participate in environmental protection activities aimed at promoting the sustainable development of Ukraine, overcoming the consequences of the war, and adapting to new environmental challenges.

To achieve this goal during the 2025/2026 academic year, students actively participated in scientific conferences and seminars, expanded their environmental knowledge by attending open lectures, and visited research institutes and laboratories. We hope that these activities helped students identify promising research areas and select topics for their future Bachelor's and Master's qualification theses.

Among the most significant and memorable events were:

  1. Participation in the 2nd International Scientific and Practical Conference "Innovative Materials and Technologies: Biotechnology, Applied Chemistry, Ecology," dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, held on 30–31 October 2025.
  2. Participation in the 16th International Scientific and Practical Conference "Comprehensive Quality Assurance of Technological Processes and Systems," held on 21–23 May 2026 in Chernihiv, Ukraine.
  3. Attendance at an open lecture entitled "Lean Manufacturing: Modern Challenges and Practical Solutions," delivered by Kostiantyn Hlazkov, business consultant at the international company Kaizen Institute.
  4. Educational visit to the Institute for Nuclear Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, where students attended a lecture delivered by Dr. Dmytro Stratilat, PhD, Senior Research Fellow. The lecture focused on the fundamental methods of protection against ionizing radiation and the impact of radiation on human health and the environment.
  5. Attendance at an open lecture by Professor Gintaras Denafas of Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania) entitled "Challenges and Practical Experience in Recovering Materials from Multilayer Composite Waste."

As a result of the club's activities, students co-authored three papers published in peer-reviewed scientific journals:

We believe that the activities of our scientific club not only contribute to the development of students' environmental awareness but also foster a responsible attitude toward the environment, strengthen research competencies, and promote practical approaches to solving current environmental challenges. Through participation in environmental protection initiatives, research projects, ecological campaigns, and educational outreach, students gain valuable experience that enables them to better understand their role in the restoration and preservation of Ukraine's environment.

We look forward to seeing you in the next academic year!
