FINAL MEETING OF THE STUDENT SCIENTIFIC CLUB “POLYMER TECHNOLOGIES”: RESULTS OF THE VISIT TO PLAST EXPO UA – 2026

The Department of Chemical Technologies and Resource Saving held the final meeting of the student scientific club “Polymer Technologies”, dedicated to discussing the results of students’ visit to the specialized exhibition PLAST EXPO UA – 2026.

The international specialized exhibition PLAST EXPO UA – 2026 became an important event for specialists in the field of production, processing, and modification of polymer materials. During the event, students had the opportunity to learn about modern technological solutions for the polymer industry, including injection molding equipment, extrusion lines, molds, peripheral equipment, raw materials, additives, colorants, engineering plastics, laboratory equipment, as well as technologies for recycling polymer waste.

During the meeting, the club members discussed the main trends presented at the exhibition, in particular the automation of production processes, improvement of equipment energy efficiency, use of recycled polymer raw materials, development of recycling technologies, application of functional additives, and creation of polymer materials with specified performance properties.

Special attention was paid to the practical significance of the exhibition for the training of future specialists in the specialty G1 Chemical Technologies and Engineering. The students noted that visiting PLAST EXPO UA – 2026 helped them better understand the connection between the theoretical knowledge gained during their studies and real technological processes used at modern polymer industry enterprises.

During the discussion, the students shared their impressions of the technological solutions they had seen, emphasizing innovative approaches to plastics processing, the use of modern equipment for quality control of polymer materials, and the relevance of implementing environmentally oriented technologies in production.

The head of the student scientific club emphasized that participation in such events contributes to the formation of professional competencies, the development of scientific thinking, and the broadening of students’ understanding of the current state and prospects of the polymer industry. Visiting specialized exhibitions is an important component of practice-oriented training, as it allows students to become directly acquainted with the latest technologies, equipment, and materials used in industry.

As a result of the meeting, the club members identified promising areas for further research work, including the study of polymer composite materials, technologies for polymer waste recycling, polymer modification to impart functional properties, and modern methods for quality control of polymer products.

The final meeting of the student scientific club “Polymer Technologies” confirmed the importance of combining educational, scientific, and practical components in the training of future specialists. The knowledge and impressions gained during the visit to PLAST EXPO UA – 2026 will serve as a basis for further student research, course papers, and qualification works, as well as contribute to the professional development of students.
