BEYOND THE LAB: STUDENT VOLUNTEERING IN TRANSCARPATHIA
Kristina Huseinova and Vladyslava Potupa, members of the "Biotechnologist" student research club, traded their usual laboratory setting for the picturesque landscapes of the Carpathians to join a vital social initiative. These master's students served as volunteer counsellors at the "Dreamland" charity camp held in Transcarpathia.

This large-scale project was organised by the "Ukrainian Mercy Foundation" (Ukrainska Fundatsiia Mysolerdia) with the sincere support of Frontier Horizon, as part of the inspiring "Give a Child a Dream Trip" program.

The "Dreamland" camp brought together hundreds of children from across Ukraine – children who, now more than ever, need support, psychological relief, and positive emotions. The students immersed themselves fully in the care and guidance of the children, helping to organise daily leisure activities, engaging in interactive sessions, workshops, and quests. They surrounded the children with care, becoming reliable mentors, trusted advisors, and true friends. For these future professionals, the experience offered a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate leadership, empathy, and teamwork skills.
The Department of Biotechnology, Leather, and Fur, together with the participating students, extends sincere gratitude to the "Ukrainian Mercy Foundation" team and the sponsors at Frontier Horizon for the excellent organisation, their long-standing commitment to Ukraine's future generation, and the wonderful opportunity to be part of this noble cause!
Together, we are doing good and helping to ensure a happy childhood for every Ukrainian child!
