THE SCIENTIFIC CLUB MEETING – “ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATION: OPPORTUNITIES, CHALLENGES AND NEW SKILLS”

On 17 September 2026, the Department of Philology and Translation of the Faculty of Culture and Creative Industries held the first meeting of the scientific club “Vocational Education and Foreign Language Communication” in the 2026-2027 academic year (head of the club – Associate Professor Kseniia Kugai).

The topic of the meeting was “Artificial Intelligence and Professional Communication: Opportunities, Challenges and New Skills”.

During the meeting, the participants discussed how the rapid development of artificial intelligence technologies is transforming modern professional communication and what new demands it places on future professionals. Particular attention was paid to the opportunities for using AI to work with information, create and edit texts, translate, prepare presentations, and communicate professionally in a foreign language.

The participants also considered the main challenges associated with the use of artificial intelligence tools, including the reliability of information, academic integrity, the responsible use of AI, and the need to critically evaluate AI-generated content.

During the discussion, the students identified the skills that are becoming increasingly important amid the growing integration of AI into educational and professional environments: critical thinking, digital literacy, the ability to formulate precise prompts, verify information, and effectively combine the capabilities of modern technologies with their own knowledge and communication skills.

The first meeting of the club marked a successful start to the new academic year and outlined relevant areas for further research and discussion.
