The Department of Intellectual Property, headed by the Head of the Department, carries out its activities in the following areas:

  • consultations on determining the rights to industrial property;
  • providing assistance in the preparation of materials for registration of rights to industrial property (inventions, utility models, industrial designs, trademarks);
  • patent information search for materials proposed for patenting;
  • preparation, submission in the prescribed manner of applications for registration of industrial property;
  • representation of the university's interests in industrial property issues in relations with individuals and legal entities, patent bodies and departments both in Ukraine and abroad;
  • preparation of documents for protection of industrial property of the university from encroachments of third parties, including protection against unfair competition;
  • advertising of industrial property objects and publication of intellectual property objects created by university scientists;
  • execution of contracts for the creation of scientific and technical products or scientific and technical services;
  • execution of exclusive / non-exclusive license agreements for the transfer of the right to use intellectual property objects and agreements on assignment of the right to them;
  • provision of other services within its competence.

The department offers the following types of paid services:

  • preparation and submission of an application for an invention;
  • preparation and submission of an application for a utility model;
  • preparation and submission of an application for an industrial design;
  • preparation and submission of an application for a mark for goods and services;
  • statement of convention priority;
  • making changes and clarifications to the application materials at the initiative of the applicant;
  • filing an application for a qualification examination of an application for an invention;
  • preparation of a response to the examination request;
  • preparation of a reasoned response to a previous decision to refuse;
  • conducting an accelerated examination of the mark for goods and services;
  • preparation of a reasoned response to the notice of possible refusal to register the mark;
  • obtaining a patent;
  • obtaining a certificate of Ukraine for a mark for goods and services;
  • making changes regarding the patent in the State Register;
  • making changes regarding the registration of the mark for goods and services in the State Register;
  • restoration of missed procedural deadlines;
  • filing an application for examination of a patented invention (utility model) for compliance with the criteria of patentability;
  • maintaining the patent in force annually;
  • extension of the patent;
  • extension of the certificate for a mark for goods and services;
  • filing an objection to the decision of the examination;
  • preparation of a license agreement or an agreement on assignment of rights;
  • registration of a license agreement or an agreement on assignment of rights;
  • making changes to the information contained in the State Register on the issuance of a license for each industrial design provided for in the contract;
  • making changes to the information contained in the State Register on the granting of a license in respect of each mark for goods and services provided for in the agreement;
  • conducting a patent information search for one group of IPC, to identify analogues of the invention (utility model);
  • conducting a patent information search to identify patents that interfere with the use of the product;
  • preliminary search for identical or similar to the degree of mixing of characters in the database of Ukrpatent;
  • translation from Russian into Ukrainian and vice versa;
  • preparation of documents to protect industrial property from encroachment by third parties, including protection against unfair competition.
