THE TERMS OF PARTICIPATION
in the XXI International Contest of One Image
and New Year and Christmas Decor "Suzirya Kashtan"
According to the Regulations on the International Contest of One Image and New Year and Christmas Decor "Suzirya Kashtan", the Operating Committee of the Contest announces the launch of the preparatory stage of the XXI International Contest of One Image and New Year and Christmas Decor "Suzirya Kashtan" (hereinafter - the Contest) and welcomes students of higher education institutions to participate in the contest program, scheduled to take place from October 26 to November 28, 2023 at the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design (hereinafter - the University).
The Contest purpose is to develop the creative capabilities of students.
The objectives of the Contest are to:
- create environment for the realization of the creative potential of young people in the field of design and fashion;
- present the results of students' and young designers' artistic work to the general public and potential consumers;
- facilitate acquiring educational skills and knowledge among future specialists in the textile, leather and products of various assortments and purposes; clothing, footwear, accessories, jewelry as well as New Year and Christmas decor;
- promote and develop the creativity and communication among students;
- spread and influence modern trends of national and world fashion culture in the context of current realities;
- create opportunities for strengthening and developing connections among creative youth of Ukraine and foreign countries.
The Contest Holding Company
The organizational, methodological and informational support of the Contest is provided by the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design. The Operating Committee of the Contest consists of prominent Ukrainian and foreign experts in the field of design, couture and fashion industry, University partners from specialized domestic and foreign educational institutions of Moldova, China, Great Britain, Romania, Bulgaria, Georgia, Albania and other countries, enterprises, associations, teachers of the departments of the Faculties of Design and Arts and Fashion of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design.
The official languages of the Contest are Ukrainian and English.
Members of the Jury
The Jury (based on the Contest's focus areas) is composed of industry-leading figures in fashion business working in the fashion industry and specialists from national and global fashion education, media representatives, design and fashion experts.
The Contest Rules and Procedure
The Contest is open to students, young designers and couturiers, as well as other participants in the educational process in the fields of textiles, fashion, and design. The Contest encompasses three professional areas: clothing; footwear and accessories; New Year and Christmas decor.
The Contest is held in two stages:
- The first stage is the qualifying round (participants send their videos presenting the artistic works created, on the basis of which the jury votes on their progress to the final stage);
- The second is the final stage, where the winners are determined and awarded.

Contest application materials and deadlines for their submission to the Operating Committee:
1. October 26 to November 20, 2023, the participants of the Competition program must fill in the application and send sketches of their works

2. 26.10.2023 – 26.11.2023 – review of works by the jury and their evaluation.
3. 28.11.2023 – the final stage of the Competition, summarizing based on the jury’s evaluations and announcing the results.
Registration for the Contest program is subject to submission of an application for participation in the Contest and subsequent submission of video content.
The number of participants from higher education institutions is unlimited. Each contestant is entitled to compete in any nomination (including several simultaneously, but with different entries). Obligatory condition: the submitted works must be exclusive and genuine.
The materials submitted for participation in the Contest must be provided in the terms set by the Operating Committee ( they are specified in the participation invitations).
Awarding of the Contest participants
The winners of the Contest are selected upon the total score of the evaluation questionnaires filled in by the Jury members (three prizes in each nomination) in each category of the Contest specifically (the Jury preserves the right to assign from one to three prizes in each nomination). The finalists will receive diplomas, and all participants will receive certificates of participation in the Contest.
