WEBINAR AT KNUTD FACULTY OF DESIGN ON PREPARING AND SUBMITTING RESEARCH ARTICLES TO JOURNALS INDEXED IN SCOPUS AND WEB OF SCIENCE

On 28 September 2026, a webinar entitled “Guidelines for Formatting and Submitting Articles to Journals Indexed in Scopus and WoS and Journals from OECD Countries” was held at the Faculty of Design of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD).

The event was organised with the support of the Faculty of Design Dean’s Office for the faculty’s academic staff and postgraduate students.

The webinar was conducted by Olha Yezhova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor at the Department of Graphic Design at KNUTD, and author of research publications in journals indexed in the international bibliographic and scientometric databases Scopus and Web of Science.

The webinar covered the main requirements for preparing and submitting research articles to international academic journals.

The participants learned about the general principles and specific features of the Scopus and Web of Science databases, as well as approaches to searching for and selecting appropriate journals, including journals from countries of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

A separate part of the webinar focused on the structure of a research article according to the IMRAD framework. The content and functional purpose of the main sections of a research publication — “Introduction”, “Materials and Methods”, “Results”, “Discussion”, and “Conclusions” — were discussed, along with the requirements for formatting the reference list, acknowledgements, and appendices.

The discussion was attended by Kalyna Pashkevych, Dean of the Faculty of Design, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor; Nataliia Chuprina, Head of the Department of Art and Fashion Design, Doctor of Art History, Professor; Danylo Kosenko, Head of the Department of Interior and Furniture Design, Candidate of Art History, Associate Professor; Liliia Zhuravel-Zmieieva, Head of the Department of Graphic Design, PhD; Olena Vasylieva, Head of the Department of Multimedia Design, Candidate of Technical Sciences; Olena Gerasymenko, Associate Professor at the Department of Art and Fashion Design, PhD; as well as other academic staff and postgraduate students of the Faculty of Design.

Expanding the presence of KNUTD researchers in international scientometric databases is one of the areas of the University’s research development and contributes to its integration into the global academic community. The Faculty of Design will continue its efforts to support the research activities of academic staff and postgraduate students, develop their publication competencies, and promote the presentation of research findings at the international level.
