VADYM ABYZOV’S PERSONAL EXHIBITION "TRAVEL SKETCHES"

Vadym Abyzov Doctor of Architecture, Professor, honored architect of Ukraine, acting member (academician) of the Ukrainian Academy of Architecture and the National Committee of the International Council for the Protection of Monuments and Landmarks - ICOMOS/UNESCO, professor of the Department of Interior and Furniture Design, head of the Scientific School of Environmental Design of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD).

He graduated from Kyiv Civil Engineering Institute (now KNUCA) in 1979, did postgraduate studies at KyivZNDIEP in 1984 and the Netherlands Institute for Housing and Urban Development (IHS) in 1998. His practical and scientific activity is connected with work in KyivZNDIEP (1979-1988) and the State Research Institute of Theory and History of Architecture and Urban Planning in the positions of department head, chief architect, director (1988-2006). Pedagogical work – at KNUCA (associate professor, professor – 1999-2006), KSADAAaD named after M. Boychuk (head of the Department, Rector – 2006-2008), KNUCaA (director of the Institute of Design, head of the Department – 2009-2017), KNUTD (professor since 2017). In 2003-2007, he was elected president of the Ukrainian Committee of ICOMOS/UNESCO. For a long time, he has been a member of the board of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine.

Vadym Abyzov is a recognized scientist of the modern format in Europe and participates in numerous international conferences and symposia. Author of 7 monographs and more than 250 printed research papers on the development of architecture and urban planning, preservation and use of cultural heritage, theory and practice of design. His works have been published both in Ukraine and abroad, arousing the constant interest of specialists from different countries and making a significant contribution to the development of the world theory and methodology of design and architecture. In 2020 and 2022 in Poland the Politechnika Świętokrzyska publishing house (Kielce) published his fundamental monographs in the field of materials science and sustainable design of the architectural environment in co-authorship with the scientists of Politechnika Świętokrzyska and KNUCA under the editorship of Professor V. Abyzov. With the author’s participation and under the leadership of V.A. Abyzov, more than 70 projects of buildings and urban complexes were realised, legislative and regulatory documents in the field of architecture and urban planning, as well as projects of nominations of cultural heritage objects of Ukraine to the UNESCO World Heritage List were developed.

Vadym Abyzov has numerous state awards. His artistic works were exhibited at personal exhibitions and international plein-air exhibitions abroad.
