On December 12, 2024, the 15th issue of the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings was published. 1,477 institutions from 95 countries are represented in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, which makes it a global ranking system for universities in assessing sustainable development indicators.

KNUTD has been participating in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings for five years, because the philosophy of the ranking, which covers the environmental, social and economic pillars of sustainable development, corresponds to the University’s policy and correlates with the strategic goals of all areas of the University’s activities.

In 2024, according to the results of the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design is in the TOP-10 of 25 universities in Ukraine and at the 1st place in Kyiv among national universities, taking 941 place in the overall world ranking.

The UI GreenMetric World University Ranking demonstrates results on current conditions and policies related to sustainability efforts and institutional improvements at universities worldwide. The social impact expected from the ranking is to draw the attention of university management and stakeholders to the problems of global climate change, clean energy, water conservation, waste recycling, environmental transport, as well as education and research on sustainable development. Going forward, this will require raising awareness and changing the behaviour of many participants. This year’s ranking of 300 new universities highlights the growing commitment of higher education institutions worldwide to play a key role in shaping a sustainable future.
