For many years, young people with special needs have had the opportunity to study at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design.
The University employs highly qualified sign language interpreters who are group curators. Among higher education institutions of III-IV level of accreditation, the University takes a leading position in the number of hearing impaired students and sign language interpreters.
In addition to studying, hearing impaired students take an active part in sports competitions, amateur performances, charity events, attend various exhibitions, museums, and other cultural events. University graduates with hearing impairments mostly work at enterprises according to their specialties.
All the necessary conditions are also created for the education of future and modern young mothers, the Student Union promotes and assists in the education of students with special needs by all possible means.
To provide a barrier-free physical environment for students with special needs at the University, the entrance groups of the academic buildings are equipped with ramps. Multi-storey academic buildings are equipped with elevators. On the first floor of the academic building №1, two toilets with cabins for people with special needs have been renovated.
