On March 21, 2017 KNUTD held an international scientific-practical conference "Economics, Finance and Management in XXI century: development tendencies and prospects". The conference was initiated by the Department of Finance and Financial and Economic Security at the Faculty of Economics and Business. The co-organizer of the conference was SESI "Academy of Financial Management".
The main purpose of the forum was to discuss current trends, problems, prospects and potential opportunities of innovative development of Ukrainian economy in the context of global challenges, the impact on its financial markets in general and banking sector in particular, improving the management system and state regulation of economic processes. The discussion of the declared questions was accompanied by lively discussion, learning and networking between educational and academic communities, and with representatives of business and public organizations.

The Rector of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, doctor of economic sciences, professor, academician of the NAES of Ukraine Ivan Gryshchenko welcomed the participants with the beginning of the conference and in his report emphasized the need to enhance competitiveness of higher education of Ukraine in the context of its integration into the world educational space,. He also focused on innovative projects of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, shared the experience of successful realization of the idea of the entrepreneurial university and the productive cooperation of the university with government agencies and business structures in terms of the educational investment and technological cluster of light industry.

Tatyana Efimenko, a corresponding member of NAS of Ukraine, President of SESI "Academy of Financial Management" encouraged the participants of the conference to a fruitful discussion of scientific issues. In her speech, she spoke about the intensified efforts of governments in many countries as for the regulation of public finance as well as improving public finance management in Ukraine.

Olexander Amosha, NAS academician, Director of Institute of Industrial Economics of NAS of Ukraine, identified the main objective of the conference as the formation of a professional environment composed of scientists and practitioners, able to formulate topical problems of economic development and suggest ways of solving them.

The Dean of the faculty of Economics and Business, doctor of economic sciences, professor Olexandra Olshanska shared her views on the possibilities of implementation of the cluster concept of economic development of regions in Ukrainian realities. She gave an example of successful realization of the benefits of cluster enterprises based on partnerships of education, science, business and government in terms of educational investment and technological cluster of light industry of Kyiv, which was created by the initiative of Kiev National University of Technologies and Design.

Problems and prospects of innovative development of economy of the partner countries of the European Union were highlighted in the report of Giorgi Sigua, Doctor of Economics from Institute of Economics, Tbilisi state University named after Ivane Javakhishvili.

The conference was attended by 129 scientists and specialists in fields of finance, education, marketing, accounting, regional economics and digital technologies. They are the vivid representatives of 39 scientific, academic and higher education institutions, government agencies, enterprises and business structures.
