IV International conference for international students “Dialogue of Cultures in the European Education Space” completed its work

On May 14, 2019 IV International conference for international students “Dialogue of Cultures in the European Education Space” was held at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design as a part of Europe Day and Ukrainian Science Day festivities.

The conference was held by Foreign Languages Department, Education and Scientific Institute of Modern Learning Technologies of KNUTD. This remarkable meeting was organized with the support of Project Management Office of KNUTD, “Strengthening Academic Integrity in Ukraine Project SAIUP, within the framework of British Council’s “Creative Sparkproject and “Emigrant radio” from Kyiv.

The co-organizers of the conference are: Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University (Vinnytsia), Taurida National V. I. Vernadsky University, Open International University of Human Development “Ukraine”, Kryvyi Rih National University, Swiss Montreux Business School, Ukrainian-American association of College Educators (USA), Academic Society of Michal Baludansky (Slovakia), Company “European Education in Ukraine”, Official iTEP testing centre “ESL MD inc.”, Union of Azerbaijan Youth in Ukraine, International company "KITE – Art Management & Cultural Industry" (Azerbaijan).

The conference began with a welcome speech by the Pro-Rector for Education Activity, Prof., Dr. Svitlana Harkavenko. She presented the information about the history and the present of KNUTD, its achievements and awards and showed the potential of scientific development, attractiveness and competitiveness of international cooperation and training foreign students.

The conference followed by Tymochko T., Project Coordinator Strengthening Academic Integrity in Ukraine Project (SAIUP); Kazarin V., Rector of Taurida National V. I. Vernadsky University; Stupnik M., Rector of Kryvyi Rih National University; Protseviat T., President Advisor for innovation of Open International University of Human Development “Ukraine”; Nuriev E., Founder of the company “European education in Ukraine”, Partner of Swiss Montreux Business School, Editor-in-chief of the program “Dialogues about education” (“Emigrant radio”); Shulga V., Founder of “Euro-Atlantic Communications”; Dolyniak-Seitz O., Vice-President of Ukrainian-American association of College Educators, Director of International Programs. They welcomed all participants and wished them effective work, expressing hope for participants to be able to contribute to the crucial component to the university’s efforts training students for an increasingly diverse world. Communicating well across cultures and competing globally determine success; develop cultural awareness, critical thinking skills, and communicative proficiency essential to navigate in a complex global environment.

The conference was attended by students and representatives of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Kyiv National Linguistic University, Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, National Prosecution Academy of Ukraine, National Academy of Statistics, Accounting and Auditing, Kryvyi Rih National University, Taurida National V. I. Vernadsky University, Kharkiv National Medical University, Kyiv National Economic University named after V. Hetman, Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University (Vinnytsia), Ternopil National Economic University, Yarmouk University (Jordan), Sichuan University (China).

Students from many countries such as the USA, Georgia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Ecuador, China, South Korea, Nigeria, Iraq, Algeria, and Turkey took part in the conference. The reports arouse the interest and active discussion of the participants and guests.

 

In general, more than 70 representatives of the faculty, young scientists and students from KNUTD, co-sponsoring universities, different Ukrainian regions and partner firms presented their papers.

The meeting was held in the form of discussions, debates and exchanges of ideas.

The conference organizers awarded the most active participants with honorary diplomas.
