At the Department of Biotechnology, Leather and Furs on April 28-30, 2019 and June 3-5 2019, were carried out accreditation of the educational activities of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design for the Bachelor's Degree course 6.051401 Biotechnology and Educational Professional Program Biotechnology Specialty 162 Biotechnology and Bioengineering.

According to the orders of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (No. 511-l and No. 645-l), V. P. Novikov, the Head of the Department of Technology of Biologically Active Compounds, Pharmacy and Biotechnology of the Lviv Polytechnic National University, Sklyar T. V., Head of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Biotechnology of the Oles Gonchar Dniprovsky National University; Bozhkova A. I., Head of the Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Kharkiv National University named after VN Karazin; Shved O. V., associate professor of the technology department of biologically active compounds, pharmacy and biotechnology of Lviv Polytechnic National University were appointed as experts.

By the experts were conducted a comprehensive examination of the educational activities of the Department of Biotechnology, Leather and Fur and its compliance with the accreditation requirements for educational, methodological, scientific and international activities; staffing, material and technical.

As part of the examination, the students completed the final course of comprehensive control work on general and vocational training disciplines, selective checking of course papers, reports and diaries on industrial practice, etc. A lively dialogue of experts with students on acquired practical skills took place. The commissions noted the high level of professional training of students and full compliance with the State requirements for accreditation.

On May 29, 2019, at the meeting of the Licensing Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, was taken a positive decision about licensing at the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design for conducting educational activities in specialty 162 Biotechnology and Bioengineering at the second (master's) level of higher education.
