The best students-electrochemists headed by prof. V.Z. Barsukov, the head of the Department for electrochemical power engineering and chemistry, were invited to the National Joint Stock Company “Naftogaz of Ukraine” on October 31, 2019.
They took part in the meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Company on the problems of the development of ceramic fuel cells, which are promising unconventional sources of electricity based on synthetic hydrogen, atmospheric oxygen and solid ceramic electrolyte.
The interesting reports and discussions during the meeting were delivered by the Director of the I.M. Frantsevich Institute for Materials Science of NAS of Ukraine, academician of NAS of Ukraine Yu.M. Solonin; Leading Researcher of the same Institute, Doctor of Technical Sciences O.D. Vasiliev; project manager of NAK Naftogaz of Ukraine A.M. Shcherbatyuk; Leading Researcher of University of Ulster (Great Britain) V. Shentsov; Honorary Director of the Gas Institute of NAS of Ukraine, Academician of NAS of Ukraine I.M. Karp and other leading scientists.
The decision was made to create a Center of Modern Energy, which main function at this stage is education in the field of fuel cells, development and implementation of standards for hydrogen safety.
The Center will be open for all interested universities and commercial companies.
