According to the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine № 372 from 25.03.2021. «On the results of state certification of higher education institutions in terms of their scientific (scientific and technical) activities» Kyiv National University of Technology and Design demonstrates systemic effectiveness among higher education institutions of Ukraine by entering qualification group B in the scientific areas: "Technical Sciences", "Biology and Health" and group B in the scientific areas: "Humanities and Arts", "Social sciences".

The state attestation of free economic zones was carried out, in accordance with the Procedure approved by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 22.08.2018 № 652, in certain 7 scientific areas. In total, the efficiency of scientific activity of 135 Ukrainian universities that passed the relevant attestation procedure was assessed.

Kyiv National University of Technology and Design passed certification in 4 areas and confirmed the current level of scientific activity. Joining group B provides for universities: basic funding for research; the right to be included in the register of scientific institutions supported by the state; etc. The next state certification is scheduled for five years.

The evaluation was carried out in accordance with a special methodology, which includes the evaluation of indicators of scientific activity related to the financing of research and development, training, the level of publication of scientific results. In addition, experts assessed the novelty and practical value of scientific results, integration into the world educational and scientific space, development prospects and more. According to the results of expert evaluation of scientific achievements and prospects of development of higher education institutions, on the basis of attestation assessment, universities are assigned to one of the qualification groups for each scientific field: A, B, C.
