October 11-20, 2021, the Department of Philology and Translation organized The Week of Foreign Languages – Autumn 2021.

Students took part in various events: contests, thematic classes, linguistic games, quizzes.

In the competition of recitation of poetry in foreign languages (resp. associate professor Iryna Kornieieva), many poems in English were recitated and also the song «My Volyn» by Stepan Krivenky, translated into German. The following students won the prizes in the competition:

2 prize – Chenchyk Sofiia / BShMK-20 (faculty of design)

3prize – Kapitula Anna / BAM-21 (institute of law and modern technologies)

In the competition of translation of poetic works ХХ-ХХI st. (resp. senior lecturer Victoria Tuhaienko). Prize-winning places were given to the following students:

English language:

 Students of the 1st and 2nd years of the KNUTD wrote the quiz about foreign countries (resp. senior lecturer Svitlana Krasniuk). The following groups of students received prizes:

2prize – gr. BDR2-21 (faculty of design)

3prize – gr. BSh-21 (faculty of fashion industry)

The competition of Illustrations for literary works was also organized by teachers of philology and translation department (resp. senior lecturer Antonina Tkalenko). According to the voting results, the following students received prizes:

Also, thematic classes about other European languages were held:

October 18, 2021, in group BVM 1-21, within the Foreign Languages Week, the thematic evening devoted to the culture of the neighboring European state of Slovakia was organized by Yana Absaliamova, associate professor of the Department of Philology and Translation. Students presented in English interesting facts about the culture, traditions, nature, history of the country, got acquainted with features of its Gothic style architecture, historical monuments: fortresses, castles, cathedrals. The report on an artist with Slovak roots – a famous American artist, producer of the first alternative band, designer, writer, collector, magazine publisher and filmmaker Andy Warhol and his creative heritage was particularly fascinating. Students also enjoyed the quiz about foreign countries.

20.10.2021 Associate professor Iryna Burlaka held a thematic lesson on the Polish language with group BF-1-21.

Within the framework of the Week of Foreign Languages, the sections of the German and French languages held thematic classes: «The German language: myths, peculiarities, dialects» and the quiz: «What do words from different dialects mean?» (resp. senior lecturer Tetiana Ketova); «The German language in the world» (resp. associate professor Olga Syniavska); «German words: long, beautiful, unique, curious» and the quiz «Pearl Words» (resp. senior lecturer Tetiana Ketova); «Magic French» (resp. associate professor Nina Shkura).
