As part of international academic mobility, the Faculty of Fashion Industry hosted a lecture by Professor Rimvidas Milasius from Kaunas University of Technology (Republic of Lithuania) on "Electrospinning: Past, Present and Future" for undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. students majoring in 182 Consumer Industry Technology, 015 Vocational Education. The technology of consumer industry products and 132 Materials Science, as well as pedagogical staff of the faculty.
The lecture covered the issue of electrospinning as a method of nanofibers manufacturing that uses electric force to extract charged filaments from a solution of polymer or polymer melts. The existing problems and areas of use of nonwoven textile materials from nanofibers obtained by this method were emphasized.
During the discussion after the lecture, students had the opportunity to get answers to questions regarding the presented material.
The event was carried out within the framework of a joint Lithuanian-Ukraine science and research project “Knitted Materials for Personal Protective Equipment against Mechanical and Flame Damages (PERPROKNIT)” supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and Research Council of Lithuania.
