On November 4, 2021, the fifth jubilee International Scientific and Practical Conference "Mechatronic Systems: Innovations and Engineering" ‒ "MSIE ‒ 2021" took place at the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design on the basis of the Mechatronics and Computer Technologies Faculty.

The conference goals were discussing topical issues in the field of mechatronic systems and exchanging experiences with spokesmen of related higher education institutions, research institutions and industries of Ukraine and other countries, namely Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, Turkey, Switzerland, Great Britain, Egypt and USA.

The conference was attended by leading higher education institutions in different regions of Ukraine, including: National Technical University of Ukraine, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Khmelnytsky National University, Lutsk National Technical University, Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic National University, Odessa Polytechnic State University, KROK University, Ukrainian Academy of Engineering and Pedagogy, Institute of Cybernetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

The theme of the conference covered three scientific areas:

1) Innovations and engineering of mechatronic, electrotechnical and electromechanical systems;

2) Engineering of intelligent and information and communication technologies and systems;

3) Technical regulation of Ukraine from standpoint of European integration.

The conference for the second year in a row was held in a mixed mode: offline and using the Zoom platform. A book of abstracts was published as a result of the conference.

On behalf of the Rector of Kyiv National University of Technology and Design, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology GRISHCHENKO IVAN, the conference was opened by Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation KNUTD, Professor, Doctor of Economics, HANUSHCHAK-YEFIMENKO LIUDMYLA.
