On December 16, 2021, the largest profile conference in Ukraine "Synergy 2021. IT Business & IT Education" was held, dedicated to the IT education development. This platform enables representatives of government, business and educational institutions to share experiences, opinions and proposals on priority areas of IT education and building favorable conditions for industry growth.

The conference is organized by the Association “IT Ukraine”, the largest professional association of Ukrainian service and product companies.

The central event of the conference was the presentation of the roadmap for reforming IT education, presented by Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

The main problems of the reform and approaches to their solution were highlighted by the participants of the discussion "Reform of IT education. Strategy, plans, approaches": Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine; Serhiy Zakharin, State Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine; Yuriy Antonyuk, Vice President, EPAM Chairman in Central and Eastern Europe; Taras Kitsmey, co-founder and board member in SoftServe; Volodymyr Bugrov, Rector of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and Andriy Suslenko, moderator of the discussion, founder of COGNICOO, expert in organizational development and communications.

The participants of the event made specific proposals for changes in the educational process, analyzed the risks associated with their implementation, and answered questions.

The problems discussion was continued by participants of the panels: "High demand for talent - new challenges for the education market", "Switches - is it fashionable?", "How to make the transition from another field comfortable? ", "Non-formal education – a new way of employment or an alternative way of learning?", "Approaching the future. The new reality of learning", "Science, R&D and business in Ukraine – is cooperation possible?", "IT for the non-IT sector. How is human resources changing in the non-IT sector?" and "Education through the media. Digital communication channels are new educational approaches."

From KNUTD the conference was attended by: Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation Volodymyr Statsenko, Director of the Institute of Engineering and Information Technology Igor Panasyuk, Dean of the Faculty of Mechatronics and Computer Technology Volodymyr Pavlenko. During the event, representatives of our university had the opportunity to discuss the results of cooperation with representatives of the leading IT company of Ukraine "EPAM", to plan specific steps to expand and attract its specialists to participate in the educational process of KNUTD.
