The 42th International Fashion Festival “KYIV FASHION” took place at the International Exhibition Center on February 2-4, 2022. Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design is a regular participant in this large-scale event in the fashion industry. The university presented its scientific, artistic, and entrepreneurial achievements in the field of design and fashion.
In his welcoming speech, Ivan Mykhailovych spoke about the activities of the Light Industry Cluster in Kyiv, listed the achievements of our university in innovative and entrepreneurial activities in the design and production of fashion industry goods. Oleh Yehorov, Chairman of the Board in Kharkiv Cluster of Light Industry and Design, emphasized the importance of developing the cluster movement in Ukraine, entering the international level, promoting and developing the domestic light industry.
Memorandum of Cooperation between the Educational Investment and Technology Cluster of Light Industry in Kyiv, represented by Ivan Mykhailovych Grishchenko, Deputy Chairman, Rector of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, and the Public Organization “Kharkiv Cluster of Light Industry and Design”, represented by Oleh Volodymyrovych Yehorov, Chairman of the Board, was concluded as part of the exhibition.
The Memorandum was signed with the aim of uniting to promote the development of bilateral cooperation, the implementation of scientific, educational, and cultural activities in the field of light industry and design between Kyiv, Kyiv region, Kharkiv region, and Ukraine. Present at the event were representatives of the Educational Investment and Technology Cluster of Light Industry in Kyiv Viktor Lishchuk, Oleh Pivovar, Liudmyla Ivanova and Kharkiv Cluster of Light Industry and Design Oleksii Lymar, Olha Lymar, Myroslav Kindrachuk, Vice-Rectors of KNUTD Liudmyla Hanushchak, Volodymyr Statsenko, Anatolii Serputko, deans of the faculties, directors of the institutes, heads of the departments, and scientific and pedagogical workers, representatives of the student government of KNUTD. They supported this significant event of the interregional cluster union with applause.
The KNUTD stand was equipped by the Faculty of Design under the leadership of the Dean, Prof. Maryna Kolosnichenko, and the Faculty of Fashion Industry under the leadership of the Dean, Prof. Liudmyla Zubkova. Models from the collections of students, winners of the competitions “Pecherski Kashtany”, “Constellation Chestnut”, “Look into the Future”, and others were presented at the stand. The models made of fabrics, fur, and knitted fabric, the samples of special and official uniforms, modern clothing accessories, creative sketches of models, scientific and methodological developments of the university scientists were demonstrated.
The International Fashion Exhibition and Fashion Festival “KYIV FASHION” (recognized by the World Association of the Exhibition Industry – UFI) bring together a full range of fashion and textile industry exhibitions within a single forum, creating the most favorable conditions for covering several market segments at the same time. This unites designers, business representatives in the fashion industry, and scientists. It is a platform for establishing new contacts, finding joint projects of scientists with industrialists, and career guidance work among future entrants. KNUTD’s annual participation in “KYIV FASHION” is a means of promoting achievements and an opportunity to demonstrate the powerful scientific, technical, artistic, and creative potential of the university.
