On the occasion of the International Customs Day, the Department of Entrepreneurship and Business delivered a demonstration lecture entitled “The value of a customs agent for business” on the Zoom platform for students of the Department.

Oksana Anatoliyivna Rohatyuk, a practicing customs broker, was a guest lecturer.

Oksana Anatoliyivna told the students about the key tasks and professional qualities of the customs broker as a provider of services that are important for modern business related to international supply. She stressed that the main purpose of the customs broker is to be an effective intermediary between the company and customs in the customs clearance process. Therefore, both for business representatives and for the state body, the customs broker must have knowledge of customs legislation and customs procedures, be able to maintain a balance between the protection of interests and effective interaction with customs officials.

The students were given interesting presentation material on the broker’s work with documents and data provided for customs clearance, as they have a significant impact on risk management and efficiency of business supply chains in cooperation with other participants in the supply chain.
