At the end of February, the Faculty of Design of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design hosted an event dedicated to honoring the heroism of the Revolution of Dignity participants and the memory of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes.

To honor the memory of the Heroes, a bead weaving master was organized to make a viburnum tree as a symbol of human dignity, courage, and unbreakable spirit in the struggle for independence of the native land. Bead weaving is one of the most fascinating types of ancient Ukrainian folk decorative art.

The event, which involved students of the educational program “Modeling, design and decoration of light industry products”, was held in several stages. So, at first, under the supervision of H. M. Oliynyk, Associate Professor of the Department of Ergonomics and Design, the girls wove green leaves of seed beads and tassels with lush bright red bunches of a viburnum tree. At the next meeting, they connected the elements and formed branches. In the end, the branches were collected in a viburnum bush and fixed in a plant pot. Acquired practical skills and abilities to make beadwork contributed to the formation of artistic abilities and skills, as well as enriching students’ experience of their own artistic creativity.

We remember the feat of the heroes who fought for the freedom of Ukraine and the dignity of its people who gave their lives for it.
