Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design is rich in successful and creative students and teachers. Our educational institution has created all the necessary conditions for the realization of creative potential. Every participant in the educational process has an opportunity to take part in University, national and international competitions and festivals. One of the participants in such artistic events is a respected figure of KNUTD, who with his paintings inspires and gives students the visual pleasure of being at the University – Oleksandr Volodymyrovych Krotevych. Oleksandr Volodymyrovych is the head of KNUTD student Design studio, a member of the Union of Designers of Ukraine, his paintings are stored in online galleries and private collections in Ukraine and many countries around the world. Among the achievements of the artist are many victories and prizes in numerous national competitions and international creative events. And, as a rule, such people do not stop at what has been achieved, they always find an opportunity to realize their creative aspirations and inspirations.
At the beginning of 2022, O.V. Krotevych applied for participation in the 32nd season of «GOLDEN TIME TALENT». This organization is a world leader in the holding of competitions and festivals according to the World Business Confederation (WORLDCOB). Competitions are held in the following categories – vocals, music, art: painting, graphics, cinema, photography, choreography, acting. GOLDEN TIME TALENT is the 53 best jury members from 18 countries. To demonstrate the style and facets of talent, Oleksandr Krotevych presented the work “Pectoral” in the category Art: painting, graphics (see Photo).
Work description, interpretation:
Dimensions of the work "Pectoral": 1100 mm x 1600 mm. Material: canvas, acrylic, artistic markers, alkyd.
History of the work: Pectoral in the picture is protection from evil forces. Wrapped in a black-and-white night background and moonlight, it claims to be at the center of the work.
The black-and-white palette of this work with a golden compositional pectoral conveys the mystery of the Cossack-characternyk’s rite. Proud totem falcons are staring into the distance. With their heads bowed to the side, the steppe wolves express their obedience and readiness to bear the burden of their magical purpose.
The work embodies a graphic performance of the artist’s style on the canvas. The painting "Pectoral" is an amulet.
Thanks to his perseverance and boundless talent, Oleksandr Krotevych took 2nd place in the nomination «Art: Painting, Graphics» and received an international certificate and personal qr-code of participant of the 32nd season of GOLDEN TIME TALENT.
