As part of international cooperation, on August 11, 2022, at 12:00 p.m., the Faculty of Fashion Industry will host an online lecture by Louise Martin and Natalie Martin, teachers at the School of Fashion and Textiles of the Birmingham City University (Great Britain) on the topic “Sustainable fashion futures. A review of current sustainable technology and how brands are using them” for students and postgraduates of specialties 015 Professional education (Technologies of light industry products) and 182 Technologies of light industry, and the teachers of the Faculty of Fashion Industry as well.
Louise Martin and Natalie Martin are lecturers in Foundation Fashion and Textiles.
Louise Martin graduated with a master’s degree in textile design. She works as a designer and stylist, with more than 10 years of teaching experience in fashion and textiles.
As a designer, Louise has established her own business, expands her knowledge in the creative sector, constantly learns new techniques, and technical know-how, and improves her skills in working with clients to develop finished products that are ready to enter the market.
Natalie Martin has worked with brands such as Joseph Turvey and Hades Knitwear as a freelance designer, production assistant, and illustrator, and on runway shows for London Men’s Fashion Week. Hands-on work with small luxury brands has given her a holistic view of the industry and experience in CAD, design, fashion illustration, styling, and fashion show creation. She has been working at the University of Birmingham since 2016, and since 2018 she has been lecturing in Fundamentals of Fashion and Textiles.
