The Faculty of Design of KNUTD regularly holds meetings with stakeholders with the aim of improving educational and professional programs and strengthening the practical orientation of the training of design specialists.

On November 4, 2022, one of these meetings was held at the Department of Graphic Design (GD). As part of a round table with stakeholders from the academic community, employers, graduates and students of higher education, a public discussion of the project of the educational and professional program "Graphic Design", specialty 022 "Design", educational level bachelor took place. On behalf of the university, the event was attended by the dean of the Faculty of Design, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Oksana Pasko, members of the working group for the development of the educational and professional program (EPP) and scientific and pedagogical employees of the Department of State Education.

The moderator of the round table was the guarantor of the educational and professional program "Graphic Design", Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Oleksandra Kolisnyk, who addressed the participants of the round table with an introductory speech and emphasized the importance of public discussion and participation of stakeholders in the development of the EPP in order to improve its content in accordance with the requirements modern labor market.

Professor Oleksandra Kolisnyk, guarantor of the Graphic Design Program of the first (bachelor's) level of higher education, introduced the stakeholders to the features of the educational and professional program, the main goals, educational components (OC) that contribute to the formation of general and professional competencies and the achievement of program learning outcomes.

Representatives from stakeholders from among employers and graduates took part in the discussion and offered proposals for improving the training of bachelors:

Kostyantyn Kozhemiaka, President of the ArtHuss Foundation, owner of the ArtHuss publishing house;

Kostyantyn Chernyavskyi, Candidate of Arts, Associate Professor, Honored Artist of Ukraine, Head of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine

Diana Aghayan, leading designer, director of the studio "Diana Aghayan";

Andrii Budnyk, candidate of arts, associate professor of KNUKiM, director of the printing and publishing company "Megatype", head of the poster and graphic design section of the Kyiv organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine;

Valentina Melnykova, owner of Megahertz packaging design studio; Ivan Tsanko, graphic designer, owner of a graphic design studio.

Kostyantyn Kozhemiaka drew attention to the importance of expanding the competences of the applicants in the field of education and increasing their competitiveness in the future based on the use in the educational process of the latest, most powerful American and European scientific, practical and theoretical publications in the field of graphic design; Kostyantyn Chernyavskyi emphasized the importance of students acquiring complex graphic design skills, which is provided by a number of OKs of this EPP; Andriy Budnyk proposed to raise the level of teaching graphic design, which is taken into account in the number of credits of this EPP, and as a result, continue to involve students in exhibition activities. Valentyna Melnykova emphasized the importance of graduates of the department possessing the professional skills of a graphic designer, which provides for the updated EPP, which included, in particular, search layout, a subject that allows you to obtain relevant professional competences in packaging design, which she absorbed not only from Ukraine, but also from world schools of fashion and design. Ivan Tsanko noted the positive direction of the EPP, the presence of OCs, within the framework of which students study general and specialized software for use in the professional activity of a graphic designer, in particular such a weighty discipline as fonts, which is in the EPP, in his opinion.

Stakeholders from the academic community, scientific and pedagogical workers of higher education institutions of Ukraine, who train specialists in specialty 022 "Design" were also invited to participate in the online meeting:

Ruslana Bezugla, doctor of arts, professor, head of the department of theory and history of culture (Institute of Contemporary Art Problems of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine);

Alina Slivinska, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, associate professor, member of the working group of the educational and professional program "Graphic Design" (National Academy of Culture and Art Managers);

Larisa Hrytsenko, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Technological Education, guarantor of the educational and professional program "Labor Training and Technologies", field of knowledge 01 Education / Pedagogy (Poltava National Pedagogical University);

Colleagues shared their own experience of training designers in higher education institutions of Ukraine and generally praised the content of the EPP, as well as provided suggestions for its improvement. Thus, Ruslana Buzugla advised to strengthen the training program for bachelor's degree holders with such a subject as web design.

During the event on the development of the EPP, scientific and pedagogical staff of the Faculty of Design, prof. Tetyana Krotova of the department of MHD, graduate student of the department of GD Solomiya Hovhanesyan, made suggestions and got acquainted with the opinions of stakeholders regarding the constituent educational components of the EPP and the need to deepen the study of certain topics in order to improve the quality of training of specialists. Graduates of higher education at the bachelor's level (M. Samsonidze, I. Masych, K. Rybak, etc.) and masters (I. Gornostal, K. Potoriy, O. Boldyreva, etc.) also took part in the discussion. The interest of the students was aroused by the discussion of the need to strengthen the practical training of the students of the "Graphic Design" OPP, expressed by the candidate of art history Andrii Budnyk, and the emphasis on the subject of fonts by the graduate of the Department of Graphic Design, graphic designer Ivan Tsanka. Based on the results of the online meeting, a number of proposals from stakeholders regarding the improvement of the projects of the educational and professional program of the bachelor's level of higher education "Graphic Design" were agreed upon, which will be taken into account and included in the program.
