December 3-6, 2022 a 3-day training hike was held in the picturesque Podilsk Tovtra for the participants of the KNUTD sports tourism section (head - associate professor of the Department of Interior and Furniture Design Tetiana Bulhakova).
Podilsky Tovtry are the reefs of the former ancient sea, and nowadays the Tovtry look like low rocky mountain ranges. Together with the bends of the Dniester, the Tovtras form magical landscapes and scenes. The route passed along rivers, bays, cool waterfalls, slopes and hills, and ancient churches, with an overnight stay in tents under the Podilsky stars.
The hike started from the village of Kolodievka, which offers a wonderful view of Bakot Bay. Next, the group moved along the picturesque Studenytsia River, where there is a Naddnistrian Nature Reserve and many wonderful views of the amazing bends of the river, on an almost "island", which becomes such only when there is a lot of water in Studenytsia. The first overnight stay was organized on the high slope of the Dniester near a small chapel with magnificent views of the river from the rocky bank ledges.
On the second day, the group passed by the "Chaplya" biological reserve and went down to the most picturesque tributary of the Tarnava River - the small Okun river. Moving along it, the participants admired the waterfalls in the river tract. The second overnight stay was arranged on the territory of Kitaygorod near the ruins of the Palace on Zamchishche.
On the third day, the group moved along the "Kytaygorod outcrop" - strange outcrops of rocky rock that remind us that the Sarmatian Sea once was here. The so-called ecological and educational trail passes in this place. Then, through the Surzhynetsky Gorge, the participants reached the village of Surzhentsi, from where they took a bus to Kamianets-Podilskyi, where they visited the Old Fortress with a tour, walked through the Old Town and had a delicious lunch in a local restaurant.
All participants of the trip returned home in a great mood, full of bright impressions and inspiration for future studies and work.
