On February 13, 2023, students and teachers of the Department of Modeling and Artistic Decoration of Clothes of KNUTD visited one of the large-scale art premieres, the exhibition of watercolor painting “The Feeling of February”. The exposition of the Art Gallery “Mytets” presents more than 60 works of modern Ukrainian watercolor masters from 6 countries of the world and Ukraine, which were viewed by the teachers and bachelor students (Groups BSHMK-20, BSHMK-21, BSHMK-22).
It should be noted that all the presented works have been produced from the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine until now. Each painting contains the artist’s soul, reflects his history, experiences, and pain.
At the exhibition opening, the famous Ukrainian artist and art critic Oleksiy Ovcharenko emphasized that “watercolor is a unique, extremely flexible, and very complex technique. This technique perfectly reflects the character of our time and, along with that, it also reflects well the character of each of the participants of the artistic event of the pan-European level”.
A popular location of the exhibition is an art object–rest zone with a large number of semi-precious stones: turquoise, rose quartz, agate, garnet, etc., on which you can sit, lie down, and hold them in your hands.
We express our thanks to the organizers of the exhibition at the Art Gallery “Mytets” for a meaningful exhibition of wartime works, full of deep emotions, and for the warm welcome of our students and teachers. Despite the Russian aggression, artists are aware of their responsibility for the affirmation and preservation of artistic cultural heritage, they are real fighters of the artistic front.
