On February 15, 2023, the students of the Institute of Engineering and Information Technologies attended the lecture “Academic Integrity”, held by Ihor Ponomarenko, head of the Center for Quality Management of Educational Activities.

“The Code of Academic Integrity of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design” is an integral part of the internal regulatory framework of the system of ensuring the quality of higher education and the quality of educational, scientific, scientific-technical, artistic, and innovative activities of KNUTD. It regulates the application of general principles and rules of scientific ethics, establishing moral principles and general ethical norms in relations between representatives of the University community.

The lecture was attended not only by first-year students, but also seniors, masters, postgraduates and teachers of the Institute of Engineering and Information Technologies.

Ihor Ponomarenko spoke about the main legislative acts on which the Code of Academic Integrity of KNUTD is based. He reminded the students that the observance of academic integrity by seekers for higher education at the University involves: independent performance of educational tasks, tasks of current and final control of learning outcomes; references to sources of information when using ideas, developments, statements, records; compliance with the legislation on copyright and related rights; provision of reliable information about the results of one’s own educational (scientific, creative) activities, used research methods and sources of information.

A lively discussion, as expected, was about academic plagiarism.

Also, the lecturer talked about modern world education on observing the rules of academic integrity.
