On February 9, 2023, a round table with stakeholders from the academic community, employers, applicants for higher education, and graduates was held at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design. Its purpose was to discuss the educational program “Nano- and Microtechnologies in Design” for the bachelor training in the specialty 105 “Applied Physics and Nanomaterials”.

From the University, the event was attended by the Head of the Department of Applied Physics and Higher Mathematics, PhD, Associate Professor, Oksana LAHODA, the guarantor of the educational program, Doctor of Sciences, Professor Oleksandr KOVALCHUK, members of the working group on the development of the educational program, scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department and students enrolled in this educational program.

The moderator of the round table was PhD, Associate Professor, Iryna OLEYNIKOVA, a member of the working group on the development of the educational program.

The stakeholders participated in the discussion:

Serhii KHOPERSKYI, Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Association of Civil Protection Specialists, Head of Scientific Projects of LLC IC “Basalt Technologies”

Vadym PANCHENKO, creative director of Delta Design LLC

Andriy TCHAIKOVSKY, Doctor of Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Mathematical Analysis, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv

Olha VASYLYK, Doctor of Sciences, Professor of the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Probability Theory, Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”

Demid PEKUR, postgraduate student of the Department of Optoelectronics of V.E. Lashkaryov Institute of Semiconductor Physics, NAS of Ukraine

Anna DZIKEVYCH, Master of BDmg-22 group

Anastasia TSVERKUNOVA, student of BNT-22 group

Taras MOROZ, student of BNT-22 group

Bohdan NOVOSAD, student of BNT-22 group

The Head of the Department of Applied Physics and Higher Mathematics, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor Oksana LAHODA addressed the participants with an introductory speech, emphasizing the flexibility of the educational program and its openness to dialogue with “customers and consumers” of the educational product – applicants and employers in order to improve the quality of educational services and increase the competitiveness of the future bachelor in the labor market.

The guarantor Oleksandr KOVALCHUK highlighted the possibilities of conducting real scientific experiments in the scientific laboratory of the Department and briefly described the content and topics of scientific research carried out under his leadership.

The developer of the educational program, Iryna OLEYNIKOVA, familiarized the participants with changes in the educational program related to the replacement of some courses with new ones and brought them up for discussion.

The practical expert Serhii KHOPERSKYI focused on the student’s ability to prepare a full-fledged working project, which contains all stages of development from idea to completed product in compliance with all technical requirements, on the continuity of theory and practice, on technological responsibility for the “flight of design imagination”.

The master of the Faculty of Design Anna DZIKEVICH, author of two successful startups developed under the leadership of Iryna Oleynikova, confirmed the importance for future lighting design specialists of studying such programs as “AutoCAD”, “DIALux”, and knowledge of norms and standards.

The postgraduate student Demid PEKUR drew attention to the programs that allow analytically, tabularly, and graphically describing the results of the set scientific experiments, preparing scientific articles, and recommended studying them meaningly.

As a result of the round table, the changes were approved. Several proposals from stakeholders on improving the educational program were agreed and they are planned to be implemented.
