Training cycle “Business in conditions of war: state, needs and strategic vectors of development” from the stakeholders and business partners of the Faculty of Management and Business Design

Undergraduate and graduate students of the Faculty of Management and Business Design of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design had an extraordinary opportunity to conduct a very productive internship in February. Despite the extremely difficult times that Ukraine and each of its citizens are experiencing today, thanks to the heroic struggle of our glorious soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, students and teachers continue to work, develop and train the next generation of highly educated, intellectual, competitive specialists-patriots of their state, whose main mission will be aimed at the successful post-war reconstruction of the country’s economy and its successful integration into the world economic space. That is why, to strengthen the practical training of undergraduate and graduate students, provide them with the most modern knowledge and competencies in the organization and conduct of business, entrepreneurship skills, practical foundations of marketing activity, management, financial management, consulting services at the Faculty of Management and Business Design, a training cycle, which has become a tradition, was organized by the leading stakeholders, business partners, and entrepreneurs “Business in conditions of war: state, needs, and strategic vectors development”. The training sessions also took place within the framework of the University’s participation in the British Council project “Creative Spark”, jointly implemented by Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design and the University of Southampton from Great Britain. It should be noted that all students from other faculties of the University had the opportunity to participate in the events.

On February 8, 2023, a master class training cycle began on the topic “Management of social projects in the context of international support of the Ukrainian product manufacturer”, the speaker of which was Maryna CHERNYAHOVSKA, manager of methods for managing the expansion of the market for Ukrainian goods marketplace “MADE WITH BRAVERY”. The undergraduates, graduate students, and teachers of the University took part in the master class. The work took place in a hybrid format: during an air alarm – in the shelter of the University and online using ZOOM technical tools.

 

On February 9, 2023, a training session was held on the topic “Prospects of non-state pension provision for young people” by the stakeholder of the Department of Smart Economics, Olha LUCHNA - director of the “First Pension Fund Administrator” LLC. Under her leadership, "PAPF" LLC took 1st place (gold) among economic entities of Ukraine in the nomination "Financial indicators of successful activity" according to the results of economic activities for 2021, and the enterprise was awarded the status of "Industry Leader 2020". More than 100 students gained knowledge about the current state and future of the three-level pension system, as well as prospects for the youth of Ukraine.

 

On February 14, 2023, a business training was held on the topic "Trends of business promotion in social networks in 2023", the speaker of which was an Internet marketer of the construction group "Synergia" Nataliya DEGTYAREVA. Undergraduate and graduate students considered the prospects of SMM promotion and figured out which advertising strategies will be relevant in 2023, but despite difficult times, when it is extremely difficult to predict what will happen next, it is still worth making certain predictions and adapting them to current realities. The business coach highlighted the main trends that should be paid attention to for launching successful Facebook and Instagram advertising. All these questions caused a stormy substantive discussion.

On February 15, 2023, students and graduate students joined the open lecture workshop on the topic "Startup: idea-prototype-pilot", the speaker of which was the head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Business, Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor, successful entrepreneur, and businessman Talyat BELIALOV.

Talyat BELIALOV is an entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience, who, in addition to his own business LLC "UKRYUGIMPEKS", is a co-founder of such leading domestic companies as "TAKAVA" LLC, "OkShina" LLC, "YUG-Trading" LLC, "Family Welfare" Cooperative". Therefore, the workshop was devoted to urgent issues related to starting one’s own business in wartime conditions, in particular, the problems of starting one’s startup were raised, clarifying the nature of a startup and how it differs from a classic business, testing a business hypothesis and finding the first customers. It should be noted that the workshop became an important motivational step for students who dream of creating their own businesses, an impetus to try to implement their innovative projects.

 

On February 16, 2023, a business training was held on the topic "Bringing new products, services, and well-known brands to the market", the speaker of which was the co-owner of the Tkachenko&Myroniuk marketing agency, strategic marketing consultant Vitaly TKACHENKO. The training was filled with cases and stories from the speaker’s life, advice to students on future employment, key skills, and knowledge for self-realization. After the training, the students asked many questions, and the speaker presented a souvenir for the most interesting of them.

 

On February 16, 2023, practical training was held with the General Director of the Mega-Polys Insurance Company Oleksandr BONDAR on the topic "Insurance under martial law". During the meeting, the head of the insurance company noted the main problems, peculiarities, and directions of development of the insurance market of Ukraine during wartime and hostilities. The modern practices of insurance companies were considered using detailed examples and the prospects for the development of insurance services in the conditions of globalization processes, pandemics, and wartime were analyzed.

 

On February 17, 2023, a workshop was held on the topic: "How to choose your direction in IT?", the speaker of which was Yuriy POGREBNYAK, project and resource manager of ERAM. Students assessed the advantages of the IT field and asked the question - which IT profession should I choose? So, the speaker tried to talk about the main areas in general, identifying the TOP-12 IT specialties. The students liked the workshop, they got answers to all their questions.

 

On February 20, 2023, a workshop was held on the topic "Modern trends of the cryptocurrency market", prepared by Oleksiy PETRIVSKY, the head of the Acordbank branch. Students gained knowledge of the world history of money and concluded that such a new, innovative payment tool as cryptocurrencies began to be widely used in developed countries. Therefore, Ukraine also needs to join the global trends in this field and implement the effective use of digital money. Different views of the National Bank of Ukraine, the Ministry of Finance, and the government regarding the status of cryptocurrency and the risks arising in this area were also discussed. We sincerely thank Oleksiy PETRIVSKY for conducting the workshop and for many years of cooperation in this direction.

 

On February 21, 2023, a training session was held with the expert of the NGO "Institute of Accounting and Taxation", Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor Kostyantyn BEZVERKHY on the topic "Accounting and taxation of the activities of residents of "Diya City" under martial law", where accounting and taxation issues were discussed activities of Diya City residents under martial law. The specifics of the activities of Diya City residents were considered using detailed examples. The advantages and disadvantages of the "Diya City" regime for both business entities and individuals have been identified.

On February 21, 2023, a discussion workshop "Macroeconomic forecast of the development of Ukraine for 2023-2030" was held. The speaker was Mykhailo KUKHAR, a senior economist at "Economic Prospects of Ukraine", a member of the staff of the Ukrainian Government for the preparation of the macroeconomic forecast until 2030 for the IMF, as well as the founder and chief economist of the Independent Group of Macroeconomic Analysis and Forecasting Ukraine Economic Outlook, teacher of the basic course of macroeconomics, the leading business school of Ukraine "MIM-Kyiv", visited by Professors from Georgetown University (Washington DC) and Harvard University (Boston). Undergraduate and graduate students were involved in a wide-ranging discussion about macroeconomic forecasts of Ukraine's post-war recovery, in particular: the stability and prospects of the educational sphere, the quality of domestic educational services,

On February 22, 2023, a workshop was held on the topic "Assessment of conformity in legally regulated and non-legislatively regulated spheres", the speaker of which was Natalya TERESHCHENKO, head of the scientific and technical department of conformity assessment of food products, products in contact with food products, toys, perfumery cosmetic products and household chemical products of SE "Ukrmetrteststandart". Undergraduate and graduate students learned about the procedure for evaluating the compliance of goods and services with the requirements of regulatory and technical documentation, news in the field of standardization, and certification. Due to the danger and by the recommendations of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, work was carried out remotely in online mode using technical means.

On February 23, 2023, a relevant and exciting online training was held on the topic "Development and creation of chatbots for business", the speaker of which was Vladyslav VOYTOVYCH, a leading expert in the management of digital communication channels and digital strategist of Vodafone Ukraine, developer of financial literacy training courses , chatbot developer. The speaker emphasized that the development and implementation of chatbots is one of the promising directions of digitalization and business development in modern conditions, and also shared his personal experience of starting a career as a chatbot developer, advised students which hard and soft skills will be more in demand in the future, students were able to ask questions of interest to them and get answers.

On February 24, 2023, online training was held on the topic “The interaction of classic marketing with digital marketing for the promotion of offline business”. The speakers are Nataliya MARCHENKO, the leading marketing specialist of SYNLAB-UKRAINE, and Leyla ASSIDE, the leading marketer and co-founder of the Business Solutions Studio advertising agency.

At the training session, a comparative analysis of the basic knowledge that marketers and digital marketers must possess was conducted. The speakers noted that in modern conditions, highly qualified specialists in the field of marketing constantly improve their skills and abilities to ensure competitive positions in the labor market.
