The Faculty of Design of KNUTD systematically conducts measures to improve and introduce new educational and professional programs, meetings with stakeholders, meetings with employers, interdepartmental seminars and round tables are held with the aim of improving the educational and professional program and strengthening the practical orientation of the training of design specialists.
In fact, from October 2022, the process of creating and improving new educational and professional programs of the specialty 022 Design: "Clothing design", "Environmental design", "Graphic design", "Multimedia design" began. At each of the graduate departments, work was done on developing educational and professional programs, discussing them with stakeholders, taking into account the wishes of employers, students and graduates.
In November 2022, one such meeting was held at the Faculty of Design. In this event, the projects of the educational and professional programs "Clothing Design", "Environmental Design", "Graphic Design", "Multimedia Design", specialty 022 "Design", educational level bachelor's in accordance with the standard of higher education of Ukraine were discussed. The dean of the Faculty of Design, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Oksana Pasko, all heads of departments, members of working groups on the development of educational and professional programs, and scientific and pedagogical staff of departments took part in the discussion.
Guarantors of the EPP "Clothing Design" of the first (bachelor's) level of higher education are Professor Kalyna Pashkevich, EPP "Environment Design" of the first (bachelor's) level of higher education Associate Professor Danylo Kosenko, EPP "Graphic Design" of the first (bachelor's) level of higher education Professor Oleksandra Kolisnyk and EPP "Multimedia Design" of the first (bachelor's) level of higher education, Professor Volodymyr Tymenko, familiarized those present with the features of educational and professional programs, their main goals, and also reviewed the educational components that contribute to the formation of general and professional competencies prescribed in the standard of higher education education of Ukraine and contribute to the achievement of program learning outcomes.
During the event, the dean of the Faculty of Design, members of the working groups for the development of the educational and professional programs and scientific and pedagogical staff of the departments made suggestions and got acquainted with the opinions of colleagues regarding the constituent educational components of the OPP and the need to deepen the study of certain topics in order to improve the quality of training of design specialists.
According to the results of the meeting, a number of proposals from the dean and members of the working groups regarding the improvement of the projects of educational and professional programs of the bachelor's level of higher education "Clothing Design", "Environmental Design", "Graphic Design", "Multimedia Design", which will be taken into account, were considered and agreed upon. and appropriate decisions were made.
In December 2022, a joint meeting of guarantors, developers and employers was held at the Faculty of Design to discuss ways of implementing new educational programs and their prospective development directions. Despite the lack of heat and light that day, everyone worked hard offline and online.
Each of the guarantors presented their educational and professional program, its features, purpose and main focus, taking into account the comments of stakeholders, graduates and students. Separate issues of some feedback from stakeholders on the educational and professional programs of graduation departments are considered. Questions about the practice of students under martial law were also discussed. The head of the department of art and costume design, Kalyna PASHKEVICH, drew attention to the peculiarities of the organization of the practice of students staying abroad; for industrial employment of students in foreign institutions corresponding to the specialty of bachelors of design; on the possibility of involving foreign stakeholders in the implementation of educational and professional education.
During the discussion, the head of the Department of Multimedia Design, Volodymyr TYMENKO, singled out the priority tasks of pedagogical, scientific-pedagogical workers and students in scientific work, related to students capable of scientific and research activities, their ability to give English-language reports, participation in competitions and projects; publication activity; meetings of scientific circles in the scientific and technical library, as well as the importance of the scientific activity of department employees.
Currently, the team of the Faculty of Design is actively working on improving the educational and methodological support of new educational programs, scientific and pedagogical staff continue their research in the field of design, so that students have the opportunity to study according to modern educational programs that are based on innovative approaches, technologies and methods teaching.
