On February 24, 2023, Ihor Ponomarenko, the head of the Center for Quality Management of Educational Activities, gave a lecture "Academic integrity" for students of the first (bachelor's), second (master's) and third (educational and scientific) levels of higher education, as well as teachers of the Faculty of Design of KNUTD. Since this day was the anniversary of the invasion of the Russian Federation into the territory of Ukraine, Ukrainians expected another round of shelling, therefore, for the safety of citizens, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine recommended that students and teachers spend these days on distance learning. Because of this, students of the Faculty of Design listened to the lecture online.

The key to the development of society is education, which includes the intellectual, spiritual, creative, physical and cultural development of the individual, as well as its successful socialization and economic well-being; formation of values necessary for successful self-realization of competences, education of responsible citizens who are capable of conscious social choice and direction of their activities for the benefit of other people and society. That is why education of respect for freedom and human dignity, individuality, intellectual property and copyright in student youth is an important humanitarian component of successful reforms in Ukrainian society.

Ihor Ponomarenko told the students that academic integrity is a set of ethical principles and rules defined by law, which should be guided by the participants of the educational process during learning, teaching and carrying out scientific and creative activities in order to ensure trust in the results of studies and scientific and creative achievements. He also reported on the main legislative acts on which the "Code of Academic Integrity of the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design" is based, which regulates the application of general principles and rules of scientific ethics, establishes moral principles and general ethical norms in relations between representatives of the university community.

The lecturer reminded the students of the need to independently complete educational tasks, current and final control tasks; references to sources of information in case of their use; compliance with the legislation on the right to intellectual property; provision of reliable information about the results of one's own educational (scientific, creative) achievements, which is the norm of academic integrity by students of higher education at the University.
